Upriver from the iconic Victoria Falls, on the banks of the mighty Zambezi, Waterberry Lodge is just a 30-minute drive from Livingstone. Secluded and informal, the property enjoys an attractive garden and river setting close enough to town to visit the Falls and market. We love this little gem for a walk on the wild side! Located on the property of Waterberry Lodge, The Woodlands is a little woodland camp, where impala and bushbuck graze and birds drink at the waterholes. There’s a different view from every corner – over the river, across the dam, through the woods – and there’s always a bird expert or river guide nearby, to share knowledge.
Originally created for keen birders seeking peace and quiet, amongst the trees the camp has become popular with those wanting that special wilderness feeling without sacrificing comfort and luxury. The service of a butler/groundsman/guard is included and breakfast is served on the lounge verandah where you can also keep cool in the heat of the day, or just sit and watch the birds go by. The Waterberry restaurant, sun decks and swimming pool, all used by Woodlanders, are a short walk down sandy paths. A wild escape with true Zambian hospitality (always with a smile).
